Sanford (Sandy) Hinden, BA, Psychology, with extensive studies in human
relations, group facilitation, meditation, anger management, conflict resolution,
assertiveness training, co-counseling, Landmark Education and Nonviolent
Communication.
Sandy is Executive Director of the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center and
Co-Director of the John Lennon Center for Music & Technology at
Five Towns College, on Long Island.
He is a creative idea person and a high energy, action-oriented, goal-seeking
doer. He is an author, coach, workshop facilitator, public speaker, community
organizer, trainer, project and program developer and consultant specializing in
marketing, pubic relations and fundraising. He worked to create a better world
for over 30 years in the arts, health and human services, for the environment
and peace, including United Nations affiliated projects and local anti-violence
and development campaigns.
Sandy founded Universal Children's Gardens (now Mother Earth Children's Gardens), The Concert for the Earth at the UN and WholeEarthARTS. He affiliated 50 museums worldwide with the UN as the International Network of Museums for Peace. Sandy was program director for Community Partners for Coordinated Services, bringing school and agency social workers together to help at-risk and in-need children and families for Suffolk County, New York.
He founded the Long Island Men's Center, helping men access healthcare, communications and relationship skills, youth gang prevention and mentoring, prisoner re-entry into the community and economic development.
Sandy creates environments that facilitate people fulfilling their dreams, potential and possibilities. People make breakthroughs, overcome obstacles and barriers, and expand their community of support and resources. He empowers audiences and participants to be more collaborative, co-empowering and co-creative.
